Installation Instructions - As provided with your Panfan

Steps 1 through 14 are for all Panfan models. For Step 15 and on, please follow through for either your AC or DC model.

Step 1:Remove tank lid and check water inlet valve type and flush mechanism type.
Step 2: If the water filler is single sided and the flush unit has an independent (accessible) overflow, then proceed to Step 4.
Step 3: If the tank has a ball valve water filler or a flush valve witha central (inaccessible) overflow pipe then replace with a suitable alternative.
Step 4: Remove the plastic wrap from the carbon filter. The filter may need replacing after 12 months of use, depending on how often the Panfan is used. Replacement filters are available online or by calling.
Step 5: Select the most appropriate adaptor. The adaptor is designed to provide alternative locations of the Panfan to prevent contact with the tank lid, tanks walls or from interference with the flushing mechanism.
Step 6: Select the most appropriate insert to slide ovet the overflow pipe. The insert creates a firm fit for the adaptor.
Step 7: Slide the adaptor onto the overflow pip, then fit the insert between the adaptor and pipe. This will ensure a firm fit.
Step 8: If the overflow pipe is adjustable and has a large cap, it may be possible to remove the pipe and then fit the correct size insert and adaptor. TThe refit the overflow pipe to the correct operating level.
Step 9: It may be possibel to reduce the length of the overflow pipe if more height is required to fit the Panfan in. Be sure that the overflow pipe extends at least 3/4" (20 mm) higher than the toilet manufacturers required full operating level.
Step 10: Remove the existing water inlet refill tube and discard. Join the new refill tube to the bend supplied. Thread the new refill tube through the adaptor using the spare hole. Enusre that the filler tube U bend is fully inserted into the overflow pipe.
Step 11: Place the Panfan unit over the adaptor, making sure that it does not touch the tank or interfere with the flushing mechanisms. If the Panfan risks touching the tank, use some of the foam seal tape provided to ensure the Panfan is resting on the tape, and not directly on the tank. THis will avopid any unnecessary vibration.
Step 12: Fit the filler tube back onto the water inlet valve where the old tube was removed. Ensure that the tube is not creased - this would restrict water flow through the filler tube.
Step 13: The Panfan should extend into the water to create a seal between the fan and the overflow pipe. If the Panfan unit does not reach the water then shorten the overflow pipe, ensuring that you leave the overflow pipe 3/4" (20mm) higher than the toilet manufacturers recommended full operating water level.
Step 14 (DC models): Connect the switch to the fan, and fit to either wall or side or top of tank. Make sure there is adequate cable length between the switch, the fan and the battery. ( for DC models). Take the extension cable and join the switch to the battery, making sure there is adequate cable length before choosing your desired location for the battery (on the wall or tank). Remove backing tape fromt he battery bracket and fix to your desired loaction (with battery fitted) making sure that the battery can be removed from the bracket for charging.
Step 14 (AC models): Electrical - for renovation and new build situations: Run wires from the power adaptor to the rear of the toilet tanks. The power adaptor should be placed in an accessible place (eg. above ceiling). ALL ELECTRICAL WORK must comply and be carried out in accordance with your local electrical by-laws. Consult a suitable qualified person if you need advice.
Secure the inline receiver to the Panfan using the sticky tape, ensuring that it DOES NOT contact the lid or tank, interfere with normal tank apparatus operation or risk being in the water.
Plug the Panfan lead into the receiver lead and plug the power adaptor lead into the receiver socket. Ensure that the electrical joins are restrained abouve water and do not interfere with the water filler or flusher mechanisms.
The Panfan will then pulse for 4-6 seconds. If not, remove the receiver from the power and try again. The fan MUST pulse as this indicates that the receiver is ready to receive commands.
NOTE: All electrical current from the power adaptor to the fan is ultra low and quite safe.
Step 15 (DC models): Charge the battery. Connect the battery to the charger. You must only use the supplied charger. The charger LED light will glow red while chargeing awhen the battery is fully charged the LED light will glow green. This can take up to 8 hours.
Step 15, 16, 17 and 18(AC models): These steps deal with setting, locating and installing the sensor for tbe Panfan. Template and full instructions are provided for this step.
Step 16 (DC model) and Step 19 (AC models): Fit the foam seal on the dry top edge of the tank front and sides.
Step 17 (DC models) and Step 20 (AC models): Place the tank likd risers on the top rear edge of the tank, approximately 10" (250mm) apart. This will create a 1/4" gap to allow the filtered air to escape the tank.
Please note that the instructions that come with your Panfan offer pictures as well to help with your installation. It is expected that the average installation will take under 10 minutes (to install the Panfan in the tank).
